A Little Bit About Me

From a young age, I was nurtured by my family to embrace God's love and find my identity in the divine. Growing up in the restoration movement tradition, I found myself drawn to a life of purpose and service. During my high school years, my involvement in the youth group sparked a deep sense of wonder about a potential calling to full-time ministry. It was then that I knew I had to explore this path further.

Guided by a profound sense of purpose, I arrived at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, where I immersed myself in the study of theology and completed a degree in Youth and Family Ministry. My time at Harding not only confirmed my calling but also opened my eyes to the endless possibilities within the realm of ministry.

In 2014, I embarked on a beautiful journey of love and partnership with my incredible wife, Morgan. Together, we ventured to Chattanooga, TN, where Morgan pursued and achieved her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. During this time, I had the privilege of serving as a youth and family minister at Highland Hills Church of Christ. It was an invaluable period of growth, where I discovered my true ministerial essence and thirsted for more profound knowledge of God, ministry, and self.

Following Morgan's graduation, an exciting new chapter unfolded before us. God presented me with the opportunity to pursue my Master of Divinity at Lipscomb University in Nashville. Here, my understanding of Christianity deepened, and I gained an appreciation for the diverse traditions within our faith. Additionally, I was fortunate to be mentored by seasoned ministers at Sycamore View Church in Memphis. This dual experience of academic learning and practical application helped me find my voice as a minister and allowed my love for God, the Church, the community, and myself to flourish.

After my time at Sycamore View, my wife and I embraced a new adventure in the Kansas City metro area. I joined OP Church as a youth minister, filled with enthusiasm to transform the lives of our students, their families, and the volunteers supporting us. But just as we were settling in, the world changed dramatically with the COVID-19 pandemic. In the face of these unprecedented challenges, I collaborated with a co-youth minister to restructure our ministry, fostering a culture of resilience and growth. However, it became evident that my philosophy of ministry didn't align with the church's leadership, leading us to part ways in April 2021.

In 2022, I took a transformative step in my journey, completing my certification as a spiritual director. This calling was an affirmation of my purpose—to be a compassionate guide for others seeking a deeper connection with God. Thus, I founded Prayerful Companion, my private practice as a spiritual director. Today, my wife and I reside in central Arkansas, where I wholeheartedly devote myself to spiritual direction.

When I am not working, I cherish moments of travel with my wife, immersing ourselves in new experiences and exploring the wonders of the world. Additionally, I find solace and inspiration in the beauty of nature while adventuring outdoors with my faithful canine companions. Nourishing my mind with the wisdom of old books, savoring the delights of coffee, and relishing in the pleasures of good food are also among the simple joys that bring me contentment.
